CES 2015: Beeline shows off iPhone 6 case w/ retractable Kevlar cord for the outdoors

Whether you are a snowboarder hitting the slopes or a college student going out on the town for drinks, a new case shown off at the Venetian resort in Las Vegas during CES 2015 will help ensure that you stay connected with your iPhone in all situations.

Beeline, as it is called, is a multi-layered protective case for the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus that features a 30-inch retractable Kevlar cord and durable carabiner that can be attached to anything from your belt loop to a backpack.

Beeline is designed by an outdoorsman for the outdoorsman. The case is primarily marketed towards snowboarders, skiers and those who spend a lot of time outdoors, but it can also prove useful for those who might have had one too many drinks and end up leaving their iPhone behind at a bar — something that would have proved especially valuable to the former Apple employee that left an iPhone 4 on a bar stool in Redwood City, California.

Beeline is not the first accessory maker to introduce an iPhone case with a lanyard, although its unique selling points are that the case has a locking and release gear and button on the back for retracting the Kevlar cord. This way, if you are at home or somewhere else where you don’t require having your iPhone physically attached to you, then you can simply keep the cord inside the case and still benefit from its protective rubber liner and nonslip design.

Beeline cases are made for the iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus and iPhone 5 in a wide variety of colors and designs. The cases retail for a rather steep price point of between $59.99 and $69.95, money that is probably better spent on an OtterBox or LifeProof case. But if you see the value in having peace of mind that you won’t ever lose your iPhone when you’re on the go, then perhaps this case is worth a look when it hits the shelves.

I like the concept, finally a case that is bringing so innovation! But that is good on its context. At the end of the day, you might prefer have something thinner and lighter to protect your phone. Have a look at krowncase.com Best simple and neat cases of the market (and feel free to use the Beeline cord case when you hit the slopes this winter!).

  2. Agree, I like the idea. My friend in the construction business has lost a few phones over the years. Just saw a case with a battery pack….he really needs that too.

Me… I’m more the frugal type. Got a clear case with screen protector for my 6+ for just $9.99 on sale. The sale is over now, but they just sent me a coupon good till sunday, for 50% off – GTF50off – that takes it back down to $9.99 for a couple more days. I got it at http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00PLUYZEG .

Will keep looking for my friend, to see if I can find him power and a cord.
