The introduction of Qi2 has made MagSafe charging more on par with wired USB-C charging, and LISEN’s latest MagSafe power bank takes full advantage of it. It includes a 10,000mAh battery, 15W wireless charging (Qi2), and a built-in kickstand; this MagSafe charger from LISEN is a great option for your go-to battery.
Last week, I covered Ubiquiti’s new cloud gateways, and the company is back this week with another release. This time, it’s releasing one of the lowest-cost Wi-Fi 7 access points on the market, the U7 Lite, which is available for $99. It’s also releasing a new in-wall Wi-Fi 7 access point for $149. Wi-Fi 7 expands upon some of the great features of Wi-Fi 6E and is supported on the iPhone 16 lineup (except the newly released iPhone 16e).

A new IT report explains that IT teams are ready to ditch passwords. 85% of surveyed IT admins believe requiring biometrics would improve security, but 68% of IT admins report that less than half of the devices they currently manage have biometric support. That’s a massive gap, and Apple might be the best company to fill it as every Apple device comes with biometrics out of the box.
eufy cameras have long been some of the best options for outdoor HomeKit cameras. I had the original model of the eufyCam 2 in my old house, and I loved them. They were a breeze to install, and the battery life was fantastic. They worked great with HomeKit Secure Video, but they also worked great as HomeKit motion sensors and recording back to the eufy base station. Overall, I had zero complaints. I recently picked up the eufy E30, and it’s a fantastic HomeKit camera if you’re looking for an indoor camera that supports HomeKit Secure Video.
Ubiquiti continues to be a leader in the enterprise networking industry with three new 10-gigabit UniFi Cloud Gateways designed to future-proof networks. In the last five years, the company has been on a roll with new products and services; these new gateways are a prime example. I’ve had great experience over the years with Apple fleets and UniFi networking, so let’s take a look at each of them.

In this episode of Apple @ Work, I talk with Nenad Milanović from CAKE.com about SaaS sprawl in large enterprises, tackling new application use cases, why they’ve been so successful with their productivity bundle, and much more.
So many accessories for MagSafe revolve around charging, docking, etc. Some of them are not technology-related but work with an analog approach. The MOFT Action Inspiration is an awesome product for those who love sticky notes but need something on the go.

Before the iPad, Apple saw a lot of success in K-12, but it was mainly around cart-based learning with MacBooks. While several schools had 1:1 programs, the iPad (and its $499 price point) kickstarted the mobility revolution. The iPad was a hit with students and teachers alike, but managing iPads at scale was, to put it mildly, a logistical nightmare for IT teams.
Internally at 9to5Mac, there have been a few conversations about the lack of releases in new HomeKit cameras in recent years. The challenge with HomeKit Secure Video is that the manufacturer sees no option for recurring revenue, so I suspect that might be part of it. The wait for something new is over, though. Today, Aqara has released the new Aqara Camera Hub G5 Pro with HomeKit Secure Video support. I’ve had my hands on one for the last two weeks, so I am excited to share my experience.

As iPhones have become more powerful, they’ve also become hotter—especially during heavy usage periods with games on Apple Arcade, video conferencing, etc. Combine that with MagSafe, and you see the opportunity for an iPhone to get warmer very quickly. AUKEY aims to solve both problems with the new AUKEY MagFusion GameFrost Active Cooling Wireless Charger. Let’s take a look at how it works.

I became a Mac user towards the end of the PowerPC era. When the switch to Intel was made, virtualization became a key use case for people looking to bridge the gap with macOS and Windows native apps. Over the last two decades, the use cases for virtualization have changed and evolved, but it’s still a key part of many workflows. When Apple switched to its own chips (Apple Silicon) in 2020, virtualization moved right along with it, but it was challenging with x86 virtualization. Technology progress is undefeated, though, as x86 emulation is now available in beta for macOS.
For years, the smart home conversation has revolved around making things easier and more convenient around the home. We’ve focused on products that let us turn on lights with our voice, unlock our door with our iPhone, or set the control temperature without getting up the couch. As awesome as those things are, I’d like to see a new generation of HomeKit focused on home maintenance. I recently picked up Ting, and while it doesn’t support HomeKit, it’s giving me so many ideas on how I’d like to see the smart home of the future evolve.
IT and security teams often struggle with visibility into vulnerabilities, leading to long remediation timelines. A McKinsey report shows that 37% of companies take over three months to resolve vulnerabilities. Today, Kandji is announcing a solution that eliminates that delay by allowing IT and security teams to detect and remediate vulnerabilities within the same platform, reducing operational slowdown and minimizing downtime.

MagSafe in the car is really the perfect use case for the technology Apple rolled out with the iPhone 12. You can skip connecting cables whenever you get in and out of the car. Snap, drive, rinse, and repeat. With this Qi2-certified MagSafe car charger, you’ll always arrive with a full battery and stay ahead of the GPS battery drain.

Google has carefully built its presence in the enterprise market for nearly two decades, starting with a key launch in 2006. That summer, Google introduced Google Apps for Your Domain, the first iteration of what would eventually become Google Workspace. This early version allowed businesses, schools, and organizations to use Gmail, Calendar, and Docs on their own custom domains for free. This was a groundbreaking move at the time, offering a simple yet effective alternative to traditional email hosting solutions and making it much easier to deploy Chromebooks. I would argue it’s one of Google’s most impactful products in its history.
Motion sensors have long been one of my favorite HomeKit devices for many years. However, the durability and speed of alerts are incredibly important when it comes to outdoor motion sensors. The Onvis outdoor motion sensor, built with Thread technology and an IP66 rating, is made to work great in both areas. If you want to trigger HomeKit devices based on motion outside, read on to learn more.

In this episode of Apple @ Work, I talk with with John Bennett, CEO, and Fred Rivain, Chief Technology Officer from Dashlane about what they think is going to be impactful for IT admins in 2025.
Apple released a single version of its MagSafe battery a few years ago but was never upgraded or replaced. It eventually was removed for sale. It was a great product, and I wish it had stayed around. It was never designed to be the biggest battery, but it was great for getting through a heavy-use day. That’s exactly what the LISEN Ultra Slim MagSafe Power Bank offers. It’s what I envision a modern Apple MagSafe battery would look like.

Full-time remote work has changed how people approach day-to-day work, but it’s also brought new challenges—like spending hours in Zoom/Google Meet meetings. Wearing AirPods 8 hours a day daily isn’t great for your battery, nor do I find it comfortable. The AISPEECH M6 Conference Speakerphone offers a nice option that I’ve been using day to day: a high-quality, AI-enhanced speakerphone that frees your ears from 8-hour-a-day Bluetooth, saves your AirPods battery, upgrades your audio experience, and includes compatibility with an AI-driven note-taker tool.
Smart locks have made our homes more secure and easy to access in recent years. For a long time, the market felt stagnant, but in the past few years, we’ve seen a few vendors hop on board in a major way. The Ultraloq Bolt is a great option with Apple HomeKit integration, built-in Wi-Fi, and versatile ways to lock and unlock your door. Whether you’re looking for advanced features like fingerprint ID or simple convenience with Siri voice control, the Ultraloq Bolt delivers it all (almost).
