I was sitting with a group of fellow Mac users and we stumbled across the idea of; “What would be a good name for the next OS X release?” We did some more endless research on the mega company named Apple. Steve Jobs left apple in 1985 only to make another company dubbed NeXT. This company was based in Redwood, California. So we thought, “since Apple’s theme changed from cats to land marks in California, why not make it a circle and use this land mark?” So we, the small group of Apple fans thought, OS X Redwood would be a good name. Think this over and tell us what you think.

I think it will be OS X Sequoia.
And the next one after that could be “OS X The President”.
Lol why “The President”?
Sequoia sounds “too IBM” (it’s the name of IBM’s super computer)
I think Sequoia (named after the national park) would be a great name, it sounds good to the ear. And it’s a much nicer place than Redwood City.
That would be a nice name, Thanks for your comment!
How about OS XI, “El Once”…instead of “Operating System Ten, version 10.11”
El Once? What are you saying?
Actually the headquarters of NeXT was in Redwood City, there is no “Redwood, California”. But it would be a cool name. But there are plenty of non-California landmarks whose name would be fitting of something grand and powerful, so I would hope other choices enter the lottery.
Ah thanks for that correction. As do I hope for more names. Seems like Sequoia is the popular one in the list above!
