Apple is in talks with the Westfield Group for an Apple Store in the upcoming World Trade Center shopping mall. The mall is expected to open in a limited capacity in 2014, with a more general opening occurring in 2015. The talks were first reported by The New York Post, but an Apple Store at this located has been expected since 2011.
Westfield is said to have signed a lease with Victoria’s Secret — and is said to be close to deals with dozens of retailers, including Apple, J. Lindberg, Tory Burch, Theory, Michael Kors, Swatch and Abercrombie & Fitch, as well as several glamorous international brands.
A video of a concept for the new mall is below:
Besides including a mall, the new World Trade Center will include office buildings and transportation hubs.

The voice effects in that video were silly.
But it’s the FUTURE!
Sounds a bit like Cortana from Halo to me..
That video was awesome, but I feel like it would have been better without the section that had the Tron background music. (Not because of the music, just how they presented everything during that time)
Am I the only one who is furious that this exists? Not only is this the most pious thing I’ve seen in a long time, but the idea infuriates me. I understand 9/11 isn’t a huge touchy subject anymore. It’s been 12 years. But no amount of time will ever justify using ground zero’s fame as a launching point for a mall. I just don’t get it.
said pious, meant pompous
