The mystery port is for connecting the Flux Capacitor for the new time travel feature. Now to figure out how to get a Macbook to do 88 mph...
for Apple cultists to consume
Could be HDMI... but my money's on Display Port.
Memory Card Slut...eh, Slot
I think and hope so too.
i thinks is more likly to be a memory card slot... it has to be something small cause they putt it right under the arm.. i cand imagin a cable conected to that place. it would be odd.
hdmi..
Could be a device to couple wirelessly with ipods, iphones or other devices. There was a patent issued by apple (not sure when) that showed an interesting idea, you could synch any device if you were inside the circle of perimeter stated by each device without even the need of passwords or user interface. Just bring the device closer to the computer and the synching occurs. It could happen, I mean it could be an IR device, and that could be used to identify the proximity of the device, but that could also be done in bluetooth. Who knows maybe its the brick that attaches there
With the option of blu-ray support and possibly HD upscaling for standard DVDs with the new Nvidia chipset, It's gotta be HDMI. But then again, DVI is compatible with HDMI, omitting of course audio. Why the need for both. I don't know darn it, I'll just have to wait for Tuesday. Then the new rumors will start on Wednesday and I'll have to start waiting again. Perpetual waiting. Ah the life of an Apple fan.
Magsafe
Yup! MagSafe might be.
I don't see magsafe elsewhere.
agreed
Its on the right side outside of that picture, you can see it on another pic (from behind), so your wrong ;)
I believe I had read before something about Apple and At&t discussing about possible 3g integration on laptops or tethering. It might just be the slot for some 3g card or something like it.
Apple remote storage slot...?
Doesn't look like a port, probably an RFID tag for tracking during manufacturing.
It is a small thermal exhaust port, just below the main port.
A built in micro into which you can shout "computer on". Of course in the next generations it will be built into the mouse. Now Star Trek 4 makes sense.
sim card slot for a 3G data card!
you may laugh at me but i think it is just a placeholder for the apple remote :D and you will somehow pull out it with the hole next to the place holder
that's actually sounds pretty good...
If it is not the mac safe, where is it then ?
I know, its a serial console port, R232! All my network admin buddies would love that... no more Serial to USB adapters!
Apple is bring back the Disk ][ 5.25" Floppies.
Could it be an eSATA port? That would be a nice little feature.
It's actually a hydrogen fuel cell docking port. New macbooks will come with the cell, which will fuel the laptop for up to 18 hours. Then all you need to do, is boil the cell for 3 minutes, let it cool down, and it'll be ready for another 18 hours.
power
Looks an aweful lot like DVI... would be a weird spot for it though. HDMI would make sense if the blu ray rumors prove true. Who cares? The cases look awesome :)
I think it could be a HDMI port, too!
Would be cool, do simply connect it to my tv to watch blue ray movies! :)
So, I voted for the display port.
Why isn't "It's a sticker... you're paranoid" an option in the poll?
