AllThingsD: iPad mini event to be held in October separate from Sept. iPhone event

Following John Gruber and Jim Dalrymple’s articles pointing to two separate Apple events this fall (one for the iPhone and one for the upcoming iPad mini), AllThingsD has confirmed the case with its sources. The next-generation iPhone will likely be announced on September 12th and go on sale on September 21st, while the iPad mini is said to see its debut at some point in October. We previously detailed that the iPad mini would look like a larger iPod touch, complete with skinner side bezels.
