Check out this interactive map of Apple’s product component suppliers

ChinaFile has pieced together an interactive map (full-screen) of Apple’s world-wide product component suppliers (via PED/Fortune). The map, which is based on Apple’s publicly available suppliers list, features points for each individual supplier. It is interesting to see the number of suppliers per region with complete context.

Unsurprisingly, you will find the biggest numbers in Asia, the continent in which most of Apple’s mass production occurs. Apple CEO Tim Cook previously announced that Apple will begin producing one of its existing Mac lines in the United States. Apple currently sources some key iOS device components (like glass and processors) from the U.S.
