Readers report Apple has started rolling out a new public beta release of its 10.10.2 OS X Yosemite beta (build 14C81h). Developers received the third build of 10.10.2 earlier this month (build 14C81f).
Today’s beta release follows beta 3, which was released earlier this month. Not much seems to have changed between the two builds, but Apple says users on the new 10.10.2 build for developers should focus on fixes for WiFi, Mail, and VoiceOver, among other changes.
The new beta is available from the Updates tab in the Mac App Store.

Nice. I can finally see my MacBook on my iPhone’s airdrop list.
Finally! I’m actually getting a new beta release! It’s about time! First one since OS x public beta
The most recent build 14C81f did fix my wifi issues I think.
anyone know if this fixes the wake from sleep issues?
No it doesn’t!! >:-(
Apple never in a hurry to fix their damn bugs. HELLO APPLE?!?!?!?! I told you since day 1 (feedback report) on public beta that wake from sleep is not working. Maybe it’s time to run Windows?
You have no idea what goes on with fixing bugs. They try their damnedest but don’t want to rush to release something loaded with bugs. Mistakes happen when something is released en made that controlled testing sometimes doesn’t show.
The amount of bugs in Apple’s software these days is getting ridiculous. I think the problem is younger developers know they can just patch a bug with a software update over the internet so they (or management) don’t press for bug testing as heavily. Gone are the days where you really did spend a long time testing your software because fixing a bug was expensive. The game industry is a prime example of this.
Most of the wake from sleep issues I’ve encountered were due to various startup items that had not yet been updated for Yosemite, like Dropbox and Bartender. Now that they’ve received their updates, everything is A OK.
People should look ar their startup items closely before jumping the gun and
blaming Apple for evrything, when it’s not fair.
i had the same issue and reported bug fix . But found out it was not apple but Airparrot’s bug that caused it. Most annoying thing ever. Had to restart 5 times a day.
Anyone know if it fixes the status bar freeze issues? or the Safari lock up issues?
The Safari lockup is the worst!
Not in my Available Updates yet :-/
shit, im stable now and scared to update. I use the word stable loosely; but compared to where I was, macbook pro crashing every few minutes “your computer seems to have shit the bed, it will now restart” black screen, exclamation point, reboot, log in, hell. the worst. Then, my screen would take on a green tint, like infrared or night vision. anything black was green and everything else was green-ish. Now, i just deal with the occasional finder crash, or mail hang, or safari wig out.. nothing to complain about.
Simple solution: just make a new partition on your disk and try it out in it! :) I know it’s probably a little cumbersome and time consuming but it’s worth it I believe.
I hope the audio output device gets retained after a FUS.
I wonder why the update is available to some beta testers and not others? I have been checking for the last day or so and I get no updates. I’m currently running 14C81f and still have Wake From Sleep issues.
Try running the installer from the AppleSeed website again. I had to do that to get it to show up.
Only issue I have since Yosemite is the battery status level at sleep or startup and when computer is open to home screen, display a different percentage only on about 4%.
Anyone else have this issue ?
I never got this one!!!!
This update still hasn’t shown up for me.
It’s far from “Gold” in my opinion. Mail is still way too sluggish. Graphics overlap in Safari and Safari is so sluggish as to be non-responsive at times. WiFi seems to be functioning as expected for the past two builds, however.
With the new updater 10.10.2 my handoff no longer works
