In line with our report from earlier this week, Apple has released OS X Yosemite 10.10.2 via the Mac App Store. The update brings the changes that we detailed in our previous report:
- Resolves an issue that may cause WiFi to disconnect
- Resolves an issue that may cause web pages to load slowly
- Fixes an issue that caused Spotlight to load remote email content when the preference was disabled in Mail
- Improves audio and video sync when using Bluetooth headphones
- Adds the ability to browse iCloud Drive in Time Machine
- Improves VoiceOver speech performance
- Resolves an issue that causes VoiceOver to echo characters when entering text on a web page
- Addresses an issue that may cause the input method to switch languages unexpectedly
- Improves stability and security in Safari
Apple also released iOS 8.1.3 with various bug fixes today.
Included with OS X Yosemite 10.10.2 is the latest version of Safari, version 8.0.3, while Mavericks 10.9 users received Safari 7.1.3 and Mountain Lion 10.8 received Safari 6.2.3. Security changes for the latest versions of Apple’s web browser are detailed here.
A stability update to Remote Desktop Client was also issued bringing the current version to 3.8.2.

hmm I was really hoping to see something that would help the laggy UI on retina Macs here. This drives me crazy on my late 2013 13″ rMBP
Yosemite has lag and is generally slower than all other Mac OS releases in terms of input and visual responsiveness on all Mac models.
Apple has too many systems to test and you can be certain that systems that were not set to Ship with Yosemite have little coverage in their test suites.
If you think a 2013 system is bad, you should see the performance on a 2009 MBP.
Runs fine on my 2.26Ghz 2009 MBP 13″….
If they can’t find the time to test all of the systems they approve Yosemite on then that is unacceptable. With all the money they are making they should be seeking out more people to hire to test what they ship. To do otherwise is unacceptable.
Unacceptable excuse. It’s Apple’s stupid yearly OS upgrade cycle. Not enough time to test and debug leaves users unwilling beta testers. I don’t care how long it takes an OS to come out as long as it’s reasonably stable on all the machines it’s designed to run on.
It was running glacially on my 3.06GHz 2009 MBP *until* I bumped up my memory from 4 to the 8 GB maximum. That, and redoing the directory with DiskWarrior made the machine absolutely hum! I also bumped up my hard drive from 500 GB to 1.0 TB so it had plenty of room to maneuver. Apple never should have approved the specs they did. I shouldn’t have been allowed to go to Yosemite without the specs I now have.
Nothing about fixing Mail?
10.10.2 doesn’t fix the many mail bugs that have been here since 10.10 and a number since Mavericks, including one where the names on received emails are changed to what’s pulled out of your address book (huge issue if you have a contact in your address book with multiple email addresses, including your own).
Hope this WiFi fix actually fixes something. WiFi has been a fucking nightmare for me on Yosemite.
I agree 100%. If this doesn’t fix it, to the Apple store I go. It’s basically pointless for me to even use my mac it’s so slow.
In the mean time, check out WiFried—it finally fixed the issue for me. It allows you to toggle AirDrop’s functionality, which seems to be what slows the Wi-Fi.
Sorry, i updated my OSX to 10.10.2 immediately. The WIFI issue still exist…… :(

sudo ifconfig awdl0 down
It turns off airdrop. Worked for me 10.10.1. Works in 10.10.2 (which did not fix wifi and bluetooth issues btw).
The solution is called Wifried.
I had high hopes for the wifi fix, but nothing changed. I still get disconnects.

Yes, the volume bezel masks are fixed in this release. This also applies to running in Dark Mode where the corners used to come up solid black.
Wifi works for me. But I’m afraid testing Wifi _and_ Bluetooth together. With the last beta, my Wifi was only responsive if I doesn’t used Bluetooth. MBP 13″ late 2013. Over all, my opinion is Yosemite runs faster than Mavericks. Also on my old late 2009 with a OCZ Vertex 4 SSD.

Nope. The update hasn’t really improved the page upload lag. Then again, perhaps my 2011 macbook pro isn’t what it was anymore.
Am I the only one with NO Safari web notification and with SafariNotificationAgent still in crash? I reported this bug in November but still nothing…

Apple. geod .com (dovrebbe essere un servizio legato agli aggiornamenti) andava in crash sulla 10.10.1 (ho riportato anche quello ad Apple). SEMBRA essere risolto al momento.
com.apple.geod è un task utilizzato da app che utilizzano i servizi delle mappe (prova ad aprire mappe o imovie e vedrai attivo il task che però dopo poco non risponde ) grazie per la risposta e spero che abbiano risolto il problema di cui parlavi e di darti una buona notizia !!!
no, ti confermo che geod dovrebbe essere stato fixato. Per le notifiche Web ho ancora problemi, ma ho Killato il SafariNotificationAgent e, per ora, il sistema lo ha ricaricato e le notifiche adesso funzionano, vedremo se tornerà in crash.

Wifi fix! I don’t think so. Still having the same problems.
My WiFi is a little faster. However, if I open a webpage with some Flash content, Safari hangs and some fan keeps spinning at the highest speed. The only way to reconnect to the WiFi is (force) quitting Safari.
It’s really very sad to spend over $2400 on a laptop and not be able to productively use it; the $3XX PCs we have at home (running Windows 7, 8.1 and 10) have no WiFi issues at all.
I thought this update was supposed to fix wifi? It’s making it run so slow and I have to disconnect my wifi and reconnect again to make it work. But it cuts out within a few seconds, as in, the pages don’t load. What’s the deal? Can someone help me?
Well, I’m here to say that my WiFi is still noticeably dropping on 10.10.2. I guess this doesn’t address the issue with jumping from access point to access point (when in an office setting). Disappointing…

I can’t seem to be able to get imovie to export to file anymore? Could this be from the upgrading to yosemite from mavericks?
The WiFi drop problem still persists on my MacBook Pro after upgrade to Yosemite 10.10.2. Turning off awdl0 (AirDrop) does not seem to help either.
I really regret upgrading to Yosemite as I was totally happy with Maverick – now my quite expensive device is reduced to a thing quite close to crap.

Of course they’re reproducible. if they weren’t then it wouldn’t be such a problem!
Yosemite is, by a huge degree, the worst release of OS X ever. This is Apple’s Vista. Between Cook approving the release of this dreck and allowing Ive to make a mockery of the human interface guidelines, Cook should be fired!
10.10.2 Removed pixel based display resolution options. 4K or 1K – WTF happened to 3K?

his is the pits, I updated to system 10.10.2 on Saturday afternoon and two hours later I was spending the next two hours trying to get my bluetooth mouse to work. I finally have it working under a new name and frankly I don’t know what I did to finally get it working again.
What a pain, I don’t usually update systems until I know it’s safe, but it now does it just about automatically.
It’s the pits.
How to enable Automatic Login on on OS X Yosemite 10.10.2 (MacBook Air)?
Id really like for them to address the issues with AD binded machines thats wont boot past 50% on 10.10. Really sucks to deal with in a corporate environment
The only think this update brought to my MacBook Air that the battery stand less. Now after 5h standby is completely empty! They have to do something with this! Mail doesn’t work properly, battery problems! If I could I would love to go back to Maverics.

fixed my bluetooth issues
I have two older Macs (2009 and 2011) and they both have the wifi drop in seconds. 10.10.2 did nothing to fix my problem. Very disappointed with Apple on this.
ARD patch released on Feb 6 DELETED Network Locations on my Mac and my wife’s Mac. Both are MacBook Pro 13 Retina. Slow networks went to NO NETWORKS. Both systems are configured to use ARD as Masters (not as clients).
this is a bullshit! I am a new unhappy owner of 10.10.3 and today I seriously cannot use web. The pages would open soooo slooowly or they don’t open at all. I’ve checked. Every other computer in the house works perfectly. This is just this terrible new Yosemite. Can I downgrade my brand new MacBookPro?
