Mophie today has revealed its own dock for the Apple Watch. The dock is made with a durable aluminum construction and features leather accents around the base. At the top of the stand is a hole for Apple’s magnetic charger for the Apple Watch. The stand is designed with the charging cable in mind, which Mophie says makes for a clean and clutter free appearance.
Last week, we gave you an extensive look at the best stands and docks for the Apple Watch, with offerings from companies like Twelve South, Spigen, and Pad & Quill. Mophie’s dock comes in with a sleek and solid design that can rival the others, and it is slated to be available on Apple Watch launch day.
Mophie’s dock is 4.64 x 2.87 x 2.52 inches and weighs 3.86 ounces. The leather accents at the base of the stand and the charging dock portion are black, while the arm is silver. Mophie describes the stand’s charging process like this:
Simply place your Apple Watch on the mophie watch dock and charging will begin on contact. The charging cable provided with your Apple Watch is concealed inside the dock, eliminating cable clutter and making charging effortless, while the leather accents offer superior protection during charging.
Mophie’s Apple Watch dock will be available on April 24th, which is also Apple Watch launch day, for $59.95. The dock is available to pre-order from Mophie’s website now. Check out other stands and docks for the Apple Watch in our full post here.

Not really understanding the use for these charging stands either, personally. Apple Watch isn’t something you can comfortably use without having it on your wrist, so why get a stand that charges it on a higher elevation? Just leave it on a table and hook up the free magnet charger to it. Did I mention it doesn’t cost $60?
“free” magnet charger… you still pay for it. Plus, it’s what you have to have to even use the third party stands, the charging part is not included with most if not all of the stands.
My question is, WHY are all the charging docks (and there are at least a dozen models already) set at an angle like that? It makes no sense.
You charge the watch at night. It’s therefore on your nightstand basically. Obviously people will use it as their alarm clock. The angled display, especially one this tall, is going to make it impossible to see or operate in that situation.
These charging docks are more about “Hey look at my watch!” than anything functional.
I never seem to agree with any of your comments,Gazoo, but you raise a good point. I’m just going to make one for myself. Wood would work just fine.
I think I’m right in saying that the watch doesn’t show any notifications when it’s not on your wrist (or just when it’s charging?) so a stand doesn’t help to use it for a display of the screen.
I think it does make it slightly easier to just place the watch on a stand, and pull it off again (one handed) rather than connecting the cable, then using two hands, pull them apart.
Does that seem like being lazy? Well if so, they’re going for the right target market, the apple watch is all about being lazy and shaving seconds off tasks.
And, yes, it’s also to show it off, I may have only gone for the sport, but it’s still a freakin’ Apple Watch!
I’m thinking the angle is twofold
First, it’s how most watch cases store and display watches. Clearly seeing the display isn’t a big deal on apple watch, but storing it elevated will help keep the shape of your bands.
2nd, this is like your phone that you need two hands to plug in. You can do this one handed, especially with a stand like this.
Excuse me, I meant to say “isn’t like your phone”
