We all know that Apple’s numbers are huge, whether it’s quarterly revenue in the tens of billions of dollars, or more than a billion iPhones sold, but if Tim Cook had a dashboard on his desk showing the numbers in real time, what would that look like?
The website everysecond.io lets you see for yourself: it has running sales totals for each of Apple’s main product ranges, together with revenue, profit and more. In the roughly three seconds it took you to read the headline, for example, Apple sold around 18 iPhones and generated about $16,000 in revenue.
The site doesn’t, of course, have access to actual data feeds – it’s just averaging out the numbers reported by Apple in its quarterly earnings reports – but it gives an interesting sense of the scale of Apple’s operations.
The site has a similar dashboard for YouTube, and promises more to follow.
