Tim Cook honors Veterans Day with photo of some of those employed by Apple, App Store promotes special collection

Tim Cook has tweeted in honor of Veterans Day, with a photo of some of the veterans who work at Apple.

Proud to work alongside these & many more veterans at Apple. We honor all the brave men & women who sacrificed for our freedom.

Veterans Day honors all American veterans, both living and deceased.

The USA previously joined the UK and several other countries in Europe and the British Commonwealth in observing Armistice Day, which commemorates the cessation of hostilities at 11 am on this day in 1918 and is devoted to remembering those killed in wars. The U.S. renamed the day Veterans Day in 1954, with Memorial Day specifically dedicated to remembering those lost in battle.

The App Store is also observing Veterans Day with a special collection of apps that serve as resources for veterans and their loved ones.
