Portkey Games shares new trailer for second iOS Harry Potter game slated for this year

WB’s Portkey Games is bringing two different Harry Potter titles to iOS this year, and today some fresh details along with a new trailer have been released for Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery.

Last November, we got our first details about Niantic’s upcoming take on the world of Hogwarts with the AR focused Harry Potter: Wizards Unite. The popular Pokémon GO developer is partnering with Portkey Games to bring that title to market, just as Jam City (creator of Futurama: Worlds of Tomorrow) is also working with WB Studio to launch the upcoming Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery.

As reported by Variety, we now know that Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery takes place during the 1980’s when Bill Weasley and Nymphadora Tonks were at Hogwarts, before Harry was born.

Here’s how Portkey and Jam City describe the upcoming iOS game:

Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery is the first game in which players can create their own character and experience life as a Hogwarts student.

The game will be free and will first be demoed at Universal Studios later this month from January 26-28 before an unspecified launch date.
