Verizon partners w/ Apple to give ‘Unlimited’ subscribers 6 months of free Apple Music

In a press release today, Verizon announced a new partnership with Apple that will allow it to offer subscribers of its Verizon Unlimited tier six free months of Apple Music. Verizon touts that this is just the beginning of its “exclusive” partnership with Apple…

The offer is open to both new and existing Verizon Unlimited customers, as well as new and existing Apple Music subscribers. Verizon says that current Apple Music subscribers will be able to lock in the same six months of free listening as new subscribers.

In a statement, Verizon’s vice president of marketing Angie Klein touted that this Apple Music offer is just the beginning of Verizon’s exclusive partnership with Apple. While Klein doesn’t explain what the future of this partnership could bring, it’s clear the carrier has more in store:

“This first-of-its-kind offer is just the first step in an exclusive partnership with Apple,” said Angie Klein, vice president of marketing, Verizon.

“It gives our customers exactly what they want: Apple’s best-in-class music streaming experience, paired with an unlimited plan tailored to them, on the network they deserve. And now that you can mix and match our unlimited plans, every person in your family can stream worry-free on the unlimited plan they need, without paying for things they don’t – and enjoy all the music they want for six months free with Apple Music with this exclusive offer in the U.S.”

Verizon first announced its three “Unlimited” plans earlier this year, offering three different tiers – all of which qualify for this Apple Music deal. Verizon customers will be able to secure the deal beginning on August 16th by heading to the carrier’s website. The full press release for today’s announcement can be found below:
