An update to the popular iOS podcast app Overcast has added some cool new features. First up, and available to everyone, are additional Siri Shortcuts. One of these is particularly useful …

In addition to a shortcut for sharing the podcast URL, there’s additional one called Timestamp URL. As the name suggests, this creates a link not just to the particular podcast episode, but to a precise part of the episode. This is really handy when you want to share a particular part of the podcast with a friend.

You can also activate and cancel the sleep timer using shortcuts.

Apple Watch Series 4 owners get a complication that can be used to quickly open the app on your Watch. It’s compatible only with the latest model as it uses the special small infographic option.

Additional features available in version 5.0.2 are:

  • More control over Auto-Sync to Watch
  • Haptics can now be reduced in Nitpicky Details
  • Sleep timer now offers a one-tap preset for the previous interval
  • Fixed bugs and crashes

Overcast is a free download from the App Store. It was only recently updated with support for Siri Shortcuts and the return of the standalone Watch app.
