How to restart Apple Watch, even if it’s not responsive

Apple Watch usually works smoothly without having to power down regularly. But if your wearable isn’t responsive or you’re seeing other glitches, it’s an important step to try. Read on for how to restart Apple Watch as well as how to force the process.

Apple says in a support document that powering off Apple Watch and turning it back on is the standard way to restart the wearable.

Important note: Don’t attempt to restart or force restart if you’re updating watchOS. Apple also says “You should force restart your device as a last resort and only if it’s not responding.”
