Apple and the MLS are running a new promotion to offer a one-month free trial of MLS Season Pass, available to new sign-ups. Interested fans can access the promotion by following the link on Lionel Messi’s Instagram page.
The one-month free trial will be available at that link until April 5. MLS Season Pass is normally priced at $14.99 on a monthly basis, or $99 for the whole season.
Apple TV+ subscribers can access a discounted rate of $12.99 per month, or $79 for the season. Additionally, club season ticket holders can get one free subscription. Subscriptions are shareable with up to six people through Apple Family Sharing.
Now in its second year, MLS Season Pass through the Apple TV app gives worldwide access to all MLS regular season and playoff matches, streaming live and on-demand with no blackouts or regional restrictions.
Broadcasts are hosted in English and Spanish, and French where available. MLS Season Pass also includes other exclusive content, including a live whip-around show called MLS 360 to follow all the action as it happens.
When Messi joined Inter Miami during the middle of last year, he reportedly brought record-breaking viewership and doubled the MLS Season Pass subscriber count. Apple does not report subscriber figures publicly but analysts now pin estimates around the ~2 million range.
