MagSafe Monday: Spigen Smart Fold 2 easily holds up to three cards with a built-in kickstand

I am all in on MagSafe Wallets. I am not sure I’ll ever return to a wallet not attached to my iPhone. It’s one less thing to keep track of day to day. They’re also small enough if I didn’t want to leave my iPhone behind, and they fit right in my pocket. I am on a mission to try all of them. Today, I am looking at the Spigen Smart Fold 2 with its strong and durable design.

Unique spider web pattern for anti-slip grip

With all the controversy around Apple’s FineWoven case, I have paid a lot of attention to the material with any MagSafe accessory. Spigen has done a great job with the material on the Smart Fold 2. The backside of the wallet has a spider web pattern, which gives it a really strong grip. With that, along with the sturdy backside. Many MagSafe wallets collapse when there are no cards in there, but the Spigen Smart Fold 2 has a pre-molded slot for your cards, so it doesn’t stretch out over time.

Card storage in the Spigen Smart Fold 2

My only complaint with the Smart Fold 2 is that it only holds three cards. I carry my driver’s license, a few credit cards, and my insurance card, so when a wallet only holds three cards, I have to decide what I carry. In an ideal world, it would hold three cards and have a slot for my driver’s license. My state doesn’t have the digital ID for iPhone yet, but even if it eventually gets it, I am not sure that I’d fully trust that it would be accepted everywhere. With that being said, if you can handle only carrying three cards, then this wallet is great.

Kickstand option and MagSafe strength

Another benefit of the Spigen Smart Fold 2 is that it includes a built in kickstand. This is highly beneficial if you enjoy having a kickstand at times, but you don’t want it built into your case directly. With the Spigen Smart Fold 2, you can easily prop your iPhone up in horizontal or vertical for Zoom calls, movie watching, etc. In fact, as I write this review, I am watching the Atlanta Braves face off against the Texas Rangers using the Spigen Smart Fold 2 to prop it up next to my Mac.

MagSafe wise, it includes a strong magnet. Spigen doesn’t report how strong the magnets in the wallet are, but in my experience, it’s one of the absolute strong magnets I’ve used. You almost have to rip it off.

Wrap up on the Spigen Smart Fold 2

The Smart Fold 2 is a fantastic and low cost option for a MagSafe wallet. It’ll hold up to three cards, keep your iPhone propped up with a built-in kickstand, and is made out of a very durable polyurethane leather.

You can buy it from Amazon or from Spigen.
