Ted Lasso season 4 hype builds as Warner Bros teases Jason Sudeikis involvement

Last week we learned that Ted Lasso season 4 starts shooting in January for Apple TV+. Now, a new interview has revealed how the man behind Lasso himself, Jason Sudeikis, is feeling about the upcoming season.

Sudeikis is ‘feeling really excited’ about season 4

Alex Ritman at Variety recently interviewed Channing Dungey, the chairman and CEO of Warner Bros. TV Group. Although Ted Lasso is an Apple TV+ property, the show is actually produced by WBTV.

In the interview, Dungey shared an exciting tidbit from Jason Sudeikis as relates to Ted Lasso season 4.

We had always been clear that we there wasn’t going to be more ‘Ted Lasso’ if Jason [Sudeikis] and team weren’t feeling excited about it, and I can tell you firsthand that he’s in a place where he’s feeling really excited and feels good about it.

Hearing that Sudeikis is “feeling really excited” about Ted Lasso season 4 is a great thing.

Ever since before season 3 wrapped, various cast and crew would repeat the anthem that more Ted Lasso would only happen if Sudeikis was fully on board.

Season 4 news had, until now, lacked any real confirmation about Jason Sudeikis’ involvement. This led some to wonder whether the show’s co-creator might be passing the torch, giving his blessing, and largely moving on.

Dungey is careful to say “it’s still early days” on season 4, which perhaps is why Apple TV+ hasn’t made an official announcement yet.

But knowing Sudeikis is excited helps get me hyped too—even if we have to wait a while for more Lasso.

What do you make of Sudeikis’ excitement for season 4? Let us know in the comments.
