Apple TV app launches ‘Summer Deal of the Day’ with daily discounts

Today the Apple TV app kicked off the first of a planned 14-day ‘Summer Deal of the Day’ promo, offering steep discounts on featured titles. Here are the details.

Summer Apple TV promo features discounted film bundle

While the rise of TV streaming services has made digital content purchases far less popular, Apple wants to try changing that.

In the Apple TV app, the company has launched a new daily promo that will last the next two weeks.

Apple’s ‘Summer Deal of the Day’ will offer a surprise content offering each day through Monday, August 11.

Today, the kickoff deal is a three-film bundle of the Hangover trilogy.

You can buy the Hangover bundle for just $9.99, a significant discount for three movies.

It is currently unknown whether Apple’s special will be limited to bundles moving forward, but it’s likely we’ll also see some individual movies as well as TV shows offered with discounts.

Though Apple used to have a standalone iTunes Store app for making film and TV purchases on iPhone, all of that content can now be found in the Apple TV app’s Store section.
