Tim Cook teases new product categories and services enabled by AI

Tim Cook held an all-hands meeting with Apple staff earlier today, and as reported by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, the CEO hinted at “new categories of products and services” coming that would be enabled by AI. Here’s what he said.

CEO Tim Cook holds all-hands meeting with staff to discuss AI, succession, and more

Apple CEO Tim Cook addressed employees at an all-hands meeting today in which he promised to lobby hard in Washington on the topic of immigration.

Cook also reportedly shared his thoughts on succession and leadership departures within Apple.

But the CEO also used the opportunity to hype up Apple’s teams about the impact of AI on future categories of products and services.

Mark Gurman writes at Bloomberg:

He responded to concerns about rivals launching new types of AI devices: “There will be new categories of products and services that are enabled through AI, and we’re extremely excited about that,” he said. “We’re excited about the opportunities that it opens for Apple.”

He also shared another direct Cook quote. The CEO said: “I truly believe there is no company better positioned to let our customers use AI in profound and meaningful ways than Apple.”

Elsewhere in the article, Gurman adds: “When discussing artificial intelligence, Cook said new devices would take advantage of the technology.”

Some of these AI-enabled new product categories and services might take years to materialize. However, rumors indicate we could see at least a couple unveiled this year.

Apple Glasses are a big one in the product department, and Bloomberg has previously reported that they could be unveiled this year ahead of shipping next year. As for services, a new Apple Health+ service is expected in iOS 27 with AI at the center.
