Just days after releasing macOS 26.3, Apple is now rolling out the first beta version of macOS 26.4 for developers. Here’s what to expect.
Possibly some new Siri features
While macOS 26.3 was a rather quiet update, macOS 26.4 was rumored to, alongside iOS 26.4, include the first results of Apple’s partnership with Google to have Gemini be the basis for the new, AI-powered Siri.
However, a recent Bloomberg report noted that Apple “is now working to spread them out over future versions.”
Be it as it may, macOS 26.4 will likely include new emoji, and it could also introduce new Apple Intelligence features unrelated to the Gemini-powered Siri. That could include another step in Apple’s move to support Anthropic’s MCP, which was first spotted in macOS 26.1.
MCP, an open protocol created by Anthropic that allows AI tools to interact with apps and platforms, is part of Xcode 26.3 and its new agentic capabilities, but it is possible that Apple might flesh out this support in future macOS versions.
We are digging through the new beta and will report back if we find anything noteworthy.
