It looks like Apple isn’t the only company with new products launching soon. A new Sonos Play portable Bluetooth and AirPlay 2 speaker has shown up online before actually being announced.
The Verge says the unannounced “slightly shrunk-down version of the Move 2 with a loop on the back for toting” was seen on Best Buy’s website. A Reddit post by the developer of the Soro iOS app shows screenshots of the deleted product page as well.
The product listing, which was seen on the retailer’s online store in Canada, had a $399.99 CAD price tag.
Other specs in the since-deleted listing include 24-hour battery life, IP67 water resistance, AUX input, USB-C power delivery, and a wireless charging base.
The product page also mentioned a March 31 release date for the unannounced portable speaker.
Sonos currently sells two portable speakers: the Sonos Roam 2 ($179 USD, $229 CAD) and the much beefier Sonos Move 2 ($499 USD, $649 CAD). That leaves plenty of room for a Sonos speaker priced around $300 USD in the lineup.
While Apple doesn’t have a portable AirPlay 2 speaker, it does make a great portable Bluetooth speaker with the USB-C Beats Pill priced at $129 or less.
Sonos customers can also look forward to upcoming lock screen playback controls on iPhone later this year.
