Silo gets exciting update ahead of season 3’s release

Silo season 3 is expected to premiere later this year, but the show just got a big season 4 update too.

Silo’s final two seasons are both done filming, which could lead to quick premiere turnaround

Apple TV has no shortage of compelling sci-fi series, with Severance, Pluribus, and most recently Monarch: Legacy of Monsters as prominent examples.

Another of the streamer’s sci-fi hits is Silo, which is expected to return for season 3 this year.

Silo is based on a trilogy of popular novels by Hugh Howey.

Because of the series’ success, Apple gave it an early renewal for not only season 3 but also season 4. And season 4 will conclude the show.

And today in a post on X, Apple confirmed that Silo season 4 has already completed filming.

Silo’s season 2 finale aired in early 2025, and season 3 is expected this fall. That would make for just shy of a two-year gap between seasons.

But since season 4 is already done filming, we should expect a much quicker turnaround between seasons 3 and 4.

If Silo season 3 does air this fall, it’s likely that season 4 will follow within a year—or maybe even less.

The first two seasons of the show only covered the first novel in the trilogy. Based on comments from creator and showrunner Graham Yost, it sounds like the final two seasons will intersperse events from books 2 and 3 rather than following the strict written chronology.

You can watch Silo’s first two seasons here on Apple TV.

Apple TV is available for $12.99 per month, or you can get it discounted through the Apple One bundle.
