Apple has released iPadOS 26.5, the latest software update that brings a handful of new features to iPad users. Here’s what’s new.

iPadOS 26.5 has new features for Apple Maps, Reminders, App Store, plus wallpapers and accessory enhancement

New software is available now for iPad users. You can install iPadOS 26.5 from Settings ⇾ General ⇾ Software Update.

The latest release adds features in a variety of areas. Here’s what’s new:

  • Wallpapers: Pride Luminance is a brand new wallpaper that includes 11 different color variants, plus a custom builder where you can manually choose your own colors.
  • Apple Maps: The Maps app has a new ‘Suggested Places’ feature in the search screen, offering recommended places based on what’s trending and your recent searches.
  • Reminders: When snoozing a due reminder, you’ll see new options with precise times so you know exactly when the reminder will pop back up.
  • App Store: Users outside the US and Singapore will see a new ‘Monthly with 12-month commitment’ option appear for in-app subscriptions.
  • Magic Accessories: You can now establish Bluetooth pairing with a Magic Keyboard, Magic Mouse, or Magic Trackpad just by plugging it into the iPad via USB-C.

iPadOS 26.5 is expected to be the last noteworthy software update before iPadOS 27 is unveiled next month.

Apple will reveal its next major updates for iPad, iPhone, Mac, and more on June 8 at WWDC 2026.

iPadOS 27 is expected to focus largely on the new Siri and other Apple Intelligence upgrades. Liquid Glass refinements and various bug fixes are coming too.
