iOS 27 has big changes coming for Apple’s Camera app, with a new report saying it will be “fully customizable.” Here are the details.
Here’s what to expect from iOS 27’s Camera app
Last month, Bloomberg reported that iOS 27’s Camera app will gain a new ‘Siri’ mode offering visual intelligence features.
But according to a new report, it sounds like that’s just a small part of what’s coming to the Camera app.
Mark Gurman writes at Bloomberg:
Apple Inc. is planning to upgrade its Camera app, making the software fully customizable as part of a broader set of user interface changes coming in its next iPhone software update.
With the new approach, users will be able to choose which features appear in the Camera app — and where they’re placed. That includes controls for flash, exposure, the timer and resolution, according to people with knowledge of the matter.
Gurman explains further that each different mode in the Camera app will offer its own set of customizable controls. These will be available “from a transparent ‘Add Widgets’ tray that slides up from the bottom of the app.”
For example, the Photo mode’s advanced options will include depth-of-field and exposure controls, and you can swap in Photographic Styles, the timer, and more.
These updates are part of more sweeping design changes Gurman says are coming in iOS 27, including Liquid Glass refinements. You can read more about those changes here.
