iPhone 18 Pro is now official. Apple just kicked off its big event today, and the first new products include the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max.
iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max feature A20 Pro chip, four color options, and variable aperture camera
The new iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max feature the same design as the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max. However, the new iPhones come in four colors and feature a new approach to the back design.

- Neural Engine: 32 cores now
- 50% increase in memory bandwidth
- A20 Pro directly connected to vapor chamber for more effective thermal management
- Next-gen vapor chamber helps deliver sustained performance
- Battery: iPhone 18 Pro matches iPhone 17 Pro Max battery life, iPhone 18 Pro Max delivers up to 30 hours battery life
- Wired charging is faster as well
Camera upgrades
- Camera: iPhone 18 Pro 48MP Fusion main camera features variable aperture (not exclusive to Max)
- Night mode captures are now faster with better quality as a result
- Aperture can narrow for better depth of field
- Pro controls: customizable Camera app interface with new options for manual control
- Aperture and shutter speed can be manually adjusted
- Smart focus mode improves locking in on a subject
- Photographic styles are more advanced with texture controls and more
- Apple Reference Image: This proves the authenticity of a photo by adding metadata that ensures an image is not AI-generated. It stores a reference image alongside image edits so the source material can always be verified.
Pricing, availability, and accessories
- iPhone 18 Pro starts at $1199 and includes a 2TB option for the first time
- iPhone 18 Pro Max starts at $1299, a $100 price increase over the 17 Pro models
- Apple is also releasing new accessories including an updated Clear Case design, a wrist strap, and new colors of silicone and FineWoven cases
- AppleCare One Family plan launching in the U.S.
- September 12 for pre-orders, September 18 for launch
