After releasing the second developer beta for macOS 27.2 Golden Gate yesterday, Apple is now rolling out the public beta as well. Here are the details.
macOS 27.2 public beta 1 now available
Last week, Apple revealed it would skip the macOS 27.1 beta cycle, released instead the first developer beta of macOS 27.2 Golden Gate. Yesterday, the company rolled out developer beta 2.
The move appears to be related to the iPhone Duo, which will ship with iOS 27.1 when it launches on October 23. It’s possible that iOS 27.1 is primarily focused on features and changes specific to the new foldable, leading Apple to move the rest of its operating systems straight to 27.2 for beta testing.
As for what’s with the macOS 27.2 beta so far, the most notable addition is the expansion of Siri AI languages, as Apple promised for October. As of macOS 27.2 Golden Gate beta 2, Siri AI supports French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, and Spanish, in addition to English.
The release build for macOS 27.2 public beta 1 is 26B5091g, which is the same as the second developer beta.
