iPadOS 26 beta 7 available now as public launch nears

Apple has released a new version of iPadOS 26 for developers, here’s what to expect from beta 7.

iPadOS 26 beta 7 arrives following two updates last week

Last week, Apple did something unusual and shipped two new iPadOS 26 betas to developers.

Early in the week, beta 6 arrived, but it was followed on Thursday by a new build alongside the public beta.

The second “beta 6” release didn’t bring any noticeable feature changes, but it must have included bug fixes Apple needed to implement before shipping the public beta.

Today, however, just days after that surprise new build, iPadOS 26 beta 7 is here.

This is expected to be one of the last few betas before Apple’s public launch.

As a result, today’s update will likely focus on stability, bug fixes, and other performance improvements.

Performance in iPadOS 26 has definitely been improving in the last couple beta updates.

Features like the new windowing system seem to run smoother than before, at least for me.

While in early betas there was noticeable lag and stuttering when resizing windows, that’s largely been eliminated in the last couple weeks.

Today’s beta 7 release should hopefully be the most stable update yet, as the public launch draws ever nearer.
