Apple launches new TechWoven material for iPhone 17 cases

After the disaster that was FineWoven two years ago, Apple is back again with another attempt to replace its leather cases with something more environmentally friendly than leather, and more stylish and premium than its base silicone range.

The new TechWoven cases have a new fine-knit weave appearance. We’ll obviously have to wait for these cases to get into people’s hands to assess their durability.

Apple says the TechWoven case is made from a custom technical fabric, using 100% recycled polyester. It features a “dimensional texture” with a rich depth of color. The sides are additionally coated with TPU for better grip, and sport aluminium buttons that line up perfectly with the physical buttons of iPhone 17.

There also built-in magnets, so you can continue to enjoy the ecosystem of MagSafe accessories while using an iPhone 17 protected by a TechWoven case.
