iPhone 18’s biggest design change will be new colors, says leaker

Earlier today, a new leak indicated there’s no black option coming for iPhone 18 Pro. Now, another leaker indicates colors will be the standout design change for the iPhone 18 lineup.

iPhone 18 lineup could largely look similar to predecessors, save for colors

When it comes to design changes, the iPhone 18 line is expected to have a few noteworthy updates.

iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max, at minimum, are getting a smaller Dynamic Island, and also switching to a more unified look across the back glass and aluminum.

But leaker Fixed Focus Digital, in a new Weibo post today, indicates that the primary design change coming to the iPhone 18 line is “new color options.”

He writes that for the iPhone 18 series, Apple has “largely refrained from incorporating novel Android-style features—such as under-display technology or extreme curvature.”

Instead, aside from some minor adjustments, this year’s new models will look a lot like last year’s.

Space black or space gray...those should be a staple colors. Maybe the iPhone 19 Pro will have one of them in 2027. I wonder how long i can hold onto this space black iPhone 16 Pro.

Per the post, Apple “is sticking to its current design scheme; the bezels and borders remain largely unchanged, with updates centering primarily on new color options.”

Cosmic Orange has been a big hit for Apple with the iPhone 17 Pro. Rumors indicate this year’s lineup might bring a new ‘deep red’ model, though other colors reportedly being tested include purple and coffee brown.

The iPhone 17 Pro brought some fairly substantial design changes just last year, so the absence of major updates this year is no surprise. Plus, rumors indicate next year’s 20th anniversary iPhone could be the model that’s a more drastic overhaul.
