Vision Pro is about to get Steam Link app for gaming, download beta here

Apple Vision Pro will soon offer access to a lot more games than ever before, as visionOS is gaining a native Steam Link app. Here’s how you can start using the Steam Link beta today.

Plenty of questions remain about Vision Pro’s future, but it’s already proven itself a great device for media consumption.

Immersive Video keeps expanding, and so does gaming thanks to recent improvements in visionOS 26.4.

And soon, gamers will enjoy another way to use Vision Pro.

Valve has announced that Steam Link is getting a native visionOS app, and the first beta is available now.

You can join the Steam Link beta here via TestFlight.

Steam Link is currently available for iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple TV. But when it launches on Apple Vision Pro, you’ll be able to access games from your Steam library inside visionOS too.

From Valve’s announcement post:

This update improves network performance, allows streaming up to 4K resolutions, and allows you to dynamically adjust the curve of the display in panoramic mode. This client is for 2D streaming only and does not support VR content.

That last line is very important. Steam Link on visionOS does not support VR titles—at least not yet. It’s limited to 2D streaming of games from your Mac or PC.

But just as visionOS remains a great way to watch 2D video content, there’s still a lot to be gained from using a massive visionOS window to play your favorite game via Steam Link.
