iCloud+ subscribers will get new benefits in iOS 27

Today Apple unveiled its next generation of Apple Intelligence, which includes new benefits for iCloud+ subscribers.

Next-gen Apple Intelligence will have usage limits that are higher for iCloud+ subscribers, new Home features

There are a variety of new Apple Intelligence features coming in iOS 27, many of which you can read about here.

As part of Apple overhauling its AI offerings, though, the company shared that certain features will come with daily usage limits. That’s because they rely on “powerful server models.”

While all of these features will be available free for users, iCloud+ subscribers will gain the benefit of higher usage limits.

Per Apple’s press release:

Some Apple Intelligence features, including image generation, have daily usage limits because they rely on powerful server models. Increased access is available with most iCloud+ subscription plans, which also include Apple Intelligence support for compatible Home cameras.

By saying “with most iCloud+ subscription plans,” presumably Apple is excluding the cheapest $0.99/month plan.

However, if you’re using any of the other iCloud+ tiers, or are an Apple One subscriber, it sounds like you’ll get more leeway when creating advanced AI images—and presumably higher limits for select other AI features too.

Additionally, the Home app will offer certain AI features for iCloud+ subscribers too, including upgrades to HomeKit Secure Video for smart cameras.
