watchOS 27 adds Siri AI, new Health features, Siri modular face, Tap gesture, and more

Apple Watch users, there’s a major new software release rolling out now. watchOS 27 can be installed via the Watch app on your iPhone, but you’ll need to install iOS 27 first.

watchOS 27 drops support for a large number of previous Watch models. No longer supported are Apple Watch Ultra (1st generation), Apple Watch Series 8, Apple Watch Series 7, Apple Watch Series 6, or Apple Watch SE (2nd generation).

New in watchOS 27 you’ll find:

Siri AI is clearly the standout change, as the new Siri offers the same powerful assistant that’s found on iPhone in iOS 27 and Mac in macOS Golden Gate.

Rather than implementing a stripped-down version of Siri for the wrist, Apple chose to make watchOS 27’s Siri AI just as capable as on other platforms. And conversations you have with Siri on Apple Watch will sync to all your devices via the new Siri app.

Finally, Apple also says watchOS 27 should run smoother than before thanks to additional bug fixes and refinements that could impact many parts of your everyday experience.
