Apple posts three exclusive ‘environmental’ iPhone and iPad wallpapers on its website

As part of Apple’s Renew program, where the company is encouraging people to recycle their old devices to help the environment, Apple has posted some exclusive environmental wallpaper to download on its website. The URL (apple.com/thanks) is given out on cards in Apple Stores to people who recycle their old device in store, as a small gesture of appreciation.

However, the URL is open to anyone to visit and download some cute, exclusive, iOS 9 wallpaper that isn’t included in the default list of iOS wallpaper …

There are three exclusive iOS 9 wallpapers in total, created by graphic artist Anthony Burrill. The blurb says each wallpaper is ‘inspired by nature and people coming together to help the planet’.

There are three wallpapers in total, called Nature in Balance, Nature In Harmony, and Nature In Us. Each one is an abstract representation of ecology and humans in harmony, using a bright vibrant green and blue color palette.

For example, the Nature In Balance wallpaper features an abstract representation of humans and trees in balance on a set of scales.

We’ve embedded the shots in this gallery but if you want to use them for your own devices, download them from the Apple website to get full-resolution imagery.

The wallpaper is available in appropriate sizes for iPad mini, iPad Air, iPad Pro, iPhone 5 (compatible with the brand new iPhone SE), and iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. Apple recommends visiting the website on the mobile device and saving them to the photo library via the Share Sheet.

Maybe in future Apple will ship these exclusive wallpapers as part of iOS 9 or iOS 10. Despite a lot of new features, iOS 9.3 was notably lacking in the new stock wallpaper department.
