Apple is once again kicking off an Apple Pay promotion in its own retail stores that will see it offer $5/£5 iTunes gift cards to customers that use the iPhone and Apple Watch based payments service (via Macrumors).
For the new promo starting this week, retail employees will encourage customers to pay with Apple Pay and for those that do not want the service, offer a walkthrough of getting set up in exchange for the iTunes credit. The iTunes credit won’t be auto-applied for those that use Apple Pay at checkout, but rather only offered to those that are new to Apple Pay. Apple has run these promotions previously, and it typically has a limited supply of gift cards to hand out per store.
The offer will be available in Apple retail stores in the US and the UK, and it’s good for any purchase including an iTunes gift card. You’ll also get to keep the complimentary iTunes gift card if you happen to return the product you purchase in the future.
Apple this week launched the service in France, its eighth country following the US, Australia, UK, Canada, China, Singapore, and Switzerland, and it previously confirmed a launch in Hong Kong is expected sometime this year.
