These are the best apps with Dark Mode support on macOS 10.14 Mojave

Earlier today, Apple released the public version of macOS 10.14 Mojave. In addition to features such as new applications, new file sorting options, and more, the update adds an official Dark Mode. On the heels of Mojave’s release, many third-party applications have been updated with their Dark Mode themes.

Best Dark Mode apps for macOS Mojave

In Mojave, Apple has themed many of its first-party applications with Dark Mode support. While things aren’t perfect, this is the first time Apple expanded Dark Mode beyond small interface items such as the menu bar.

The success of Dark Mode, however, depends also on third-party developers and their willingness to add dark themes to their applications. Thankfully, a handful of popular developers have done just that on Mojave launch day.

Ulysses

Popular writing and markdown application Ulysses for macOS has been updated today with a new dark mode option, as well as a new share extension. The update also includes a host of bug fixes, performance improvements, and general optimizations for Mojave.

Coinciding with Apple’s new operating systems & now available: new Ulysses versions. On Mac, expect a revamped, macOS-Mojave-ready dark mode, a face-lifted sheet list, and, finally, a share extension.

Ulysses is available on the Mac App Store. Subscriptions start at $4.99 per month via in-app purchase.

1Password

Following major 1Password enhancements on iOS last week, the macOS client has been updated today with Dark Mode support. In Safari, 1Password supports a brand new Safari App Extension. 1Password also says it includes full support for hardened runtime and app notarization, offering advanced security to macOS users.

Spark

Readdle’s popular email client Spark has also been updated today. The update includes support for Mojave’s Dark Mode, and can be enabled by heading into Settings > General and choosing the dark option. Today’s Spark update also brings integration with conference call services such as Hangouts, Meet, and Zoom.

Panic’s Transmit file transfer application is also joining the Mojave fun today with an update to version 5.2. The update includes Dark Mode support. Panic also says that it is working on a Mojave update for its Code application on macOS, as well. Though, it does not yet have a release date for that update.

Transmit is available direct-to-consumer from Panic’s website.

Fantastical

Flexibits updated its Fantastical 2 application to version 2.5.4 today with Dark Mode support. The update also includes “various fixes and improvements.” Download Fantastical on the Mac App Store.
