Following the release of Facebook’s completely re-built (for speed) iPhone app, the company has released an update to its standalone Messenger app. The new update includes support for smiley and emoji graphics, the ability to tap a friend’s name to access their Timeline, bug fixes, and a new messages sound. Perhaps the most notable feature, though, is the ability to see if friends are active. This helps you know if the person you are talking to is going to reply.
