Walmart is up to it’s Roll Back tricks again and has announced that they will be carrying the new iPad Air on November 1st at the discounted price of $479 for the 16GB WiFi model. That is $20 below the retail price of $499, the biggest such discount we’ve ever seen at launch. There is no word if this discount will be extended to other iPad Air models or the new iPad mini with Retina display when it is released later in November.

Walmart also recently took significant discounts on the iPhone 5s and 5c, which were followed by Target, Radioshack, Best Buy and others so perhaps we’re witnessing a trend.

Apple, Best Buy, Target and others will often price-match other retailers so it’s worth a shot asking on launch day. Here’s your evidence…

Is this happening for Walmart Canada also?

  3. Do we know if Walmart will carry the iPad Air in it’s different sizes and LTE options Day 1? Or is there any reason to think that they wouldn’t?

The Apple Retail Stores are not price matching Walmart… I just tried and they told me no.
