When the Apple Watch launches this Friday, Apple Pay will be available for use in-stores from the new device for owners in the United States. Apple Pay could go international as soon as November with a launch in Canada in the works.

Apple Pay in-stores and within apps is already available for iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus users, and iPad Air 2 and iPad mini 3 supports Apple Pay within apps.  As always, you can find our running list of merchants and apps that accept Apple Pay here.

I’m still waiting for Bancorp and Simple Banking support for ApplePay!

I saw yesterday on twitter that people were adding Simple cards to Apple Pay. The parent of Simple is BBVA/Compass which is already on Apple Pay so there may not be a separate entry.

They have a support article for it published now, but looks like they’re in the final stages of testing. Some might be able to add right now; I haven’t tried yet (just about to) but it should be working in the next couple of days, if it isn’t already.

I’ll try soon and report how it goes.

Just tried and it went through to Terms and Conditions, but error’d out after. Should be live soon, though.

Yeah same here. I saw on their FB page that they stated they’re testing it right now and it should be arriving soon. I’m hoping that means in another week or two cause I’d love to have this with my Apple Watch.

    STILL no United Bank GRRRRRR

  3. absarokasheriff - 9 years ago

Included on that list are banks doing business in colorado, Commerce, Guaranty, and UMB. Plus the #9 Suncoast and #14 Digital Federal, Credit Unions. IBERIA is a big Louisiana bank.

    …and still no Ally…

  5. Dave Park - 9 years ago

My credit union, Velocity, did the paperwork several months ago to be part of Apple Pay. They’re still waiting. I guess this is a situation where Apple’s ability to enroll people in the system is limited.

  6. hungarianhc - 9 years ago

    Ally, c’mon… let’s do this…

  7. Taka Iguchi - 9 years ago

I’m absolutely blows away that Ally and Discover aren’t on it yet. Nutso.

    • Chris Cooper - 9 years ago

      Discover I can halfway understand…halfway…

I believe I read somewhere that Discover had (or was working on) their own little form of “Apple Pay” and if that’s the case, I see why they haven’t jumped on board yet

But Ally…they’re the largest / best / most popular “internet bank”

There should be no excuses there…

  8. cseeman - 9 years ago

There will come a day, soon, when Discover will be the only major card not available on Apple Pay.
