Apple today, just a week after debuting a new set of videos showcasing Apple Watch apps, has revealed three new TV advertisements again showcasing the various apps of the Apple Watch. The first video, seen above, showcases the music applications that Apple Watch supports. Apps showcased include ones such as Shazam, Instagram, and Apple’s own Music app.

The second video showcases the fitness apps that Apple Watch users can take advantage of. The video shows off apps such as MLB At Bat, Nike+, and Apple’s own Activity app.

Finally, the third video focuses on the travel apps that Apple Watch supports, including Expedia, Yelp, and TripAdvisor.

Apple also recently debuted a new iPhone ad that focuses on the App Store, as well as a new campaign that touts “If it’s not an iPhone, it’s not an iPhone.” You can see Apple’s three new videos below:

For the life of me i don’t understand why Apple is having so much trouble advertising this gadget. It’s not that hard a sell, but they keep churning out these useless spots. SHOW WHY A HANDS FREE DEVICE WILL HELP USERS. That’s all. It’s not difficult. Quit showing what it can do, show why the device is better under certain circumstances.

I believe it’s a smart choice to showcase the apps it can run. I’m sure one general misconception to the public eye is that the watch has no App Store, and is limited to what ships on the device. Showing that it can be expanded with third party applications not only tells the general consumer that it does have a categorized App Store of its own, but that it can offer functionality is many other ways besides the fundamentals (phone, messages, music, fitness, weather, etc). People will see it more as a mini iPhone optimized for the wrist, and be more inclined to make a purchase – or at least check it out at an Apple Store.

Disagree. The Watch is so nascent right now, they need to focus on the CONCEPT of a smarwatch, not dispelling misconceptions. Especially until OS 2 launches, apps right now are slow with poor UIs.

IMO the ads showing the watch in the real world are way more effective. They help you jog, they help you pay for stuff, you get text messages and calls without occupying your hands, it looks good with your outfit. I think that’s the message they need to hammer in 2015. The thousands of apps can wait.

    • They haven’t forgotten, you just forgot to search. Here you go you ignorant one…https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1qYMJjTxJnM

Nice ads, better than last 3 but please o please do a fast track ad of how quick and easy payment is. Payments is one of the killer apps.

If you actually take a close look at the apps around it, they’re all crap. They just highlight the only best 3 and those are just only the best ones. Plus Apple loves to show hundred of apps in their advertising. There are just displayed around 30 around it. Doesn’t seem like a big seller to me?
Plus I would have waited with the music ad, since WatchOS 2 will have a few updates to it to make it better.

    • Agreed. Shazam is pointless right now since it requires the iPhone to listen to music and since it’s likely in your pocket it’s probably not going to match anything. With Watch OS 2 the developers of Shazam will be able to tap into the microphone built into the Apple Watch which should result in a much more pleasurable experience.

I’m an early adopter of the Apple Watch and consider the entire thing in an unofficial beta until Watch OS 2 matures and developers start making apps for it that run directly on the device and can take full advantage of the hardware on the watch. The only question is how will running apps directly on the watch affect battery life?

They should use real models instead of CGI…

    • Mosha - 9 years ago

What difference does it make? They look identical…

      • rnc - 9 years ago

        No, CGI looks plastic.

I’m glad they’re highlighting the few apps that are actually designed around how the Apple Watch works best. Yelp, Pandora, Uber, the New York Times, Dark Sky, and Starbucks are the only apps worth the trouble of using on the Watch. Other than that, I love that I can customize my watch face to show info I need during the work week, then switch to a simpler view on the weekend. I also love notifications like Dark Sky weather alerts, new Facebook messages/comments on my business page, and calendar reminders.I think Apple needs to be careful about highlighting the Watch as an app device, a la iPhone. It’s just a watch. Like any other watch it provides the simple convenience of getting crumbs of info at a glance. But unlike any other watch, those crumbs are customized to each person’s needs – not permanently fixed on a metal watch face. It’s just a watch, an amazing, incredibly personal watch.

@9to5mac: In the fitness video description, it is actually WaterMinder not the native Activity app :)
