Apple has officially acknowledged an issue reported by multiple iPad Pro owners on Reddit and Apple’s own support forum, in which some units become unresponsive after charging. We’ve even happened upon a few dead iPad Pros at the Apple Store for which an Apple employee shyly asked us to avert our eyes while he did a hard restart.
Some users report that the device won’t wake after charging, while others who left it switched on say that the Pro fails to respond to either the touchscreen or the home button. The problem can be resolved by a force restart, and this is the action Apple recommends while it investigates …
Apple has posted an extremely brief support document.
To get back to using your iPad Pro, force restart it by pressing and holding both the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons for at least ten seconds, until you see the Apple logo.
Apple is aware of this issue and is investigating.
Some are suggesting that iOS 9.1 is the culprit, with the issue resolved by the beta of iOS 9.2. If this indeed proves to be the case, then affected owners shouldn’t have long to wait for a fix.

Too early to call it #wakegate?
Yes, Apple seemingly cannot have a product launch without some “gate” drama.
Sadly, this one will most probably affect my review since it happened to me this morning. On the other hand, I had this problem just with the consumer iOS. Using the retail ipsw, no problem occured.
Yes, and usually contrived from almost nothing, by legions of devoted Fandroids pretending to be “customers”.
I had my iPad Pro black out on me once running iOS 9.2.
IOS 9 is a 1.3+ gig upgrade. A database that size is bound to have issues of some sort. Heck, I’ve had issues with apps as small as 4mb.
It seams that after Jobs died, Apple’s QC has gone out of the window. It seems every product has an issue at launch that they fail to release updates in reasonable time for. If there is an issue, fix it either before the product is released, or with a patch immediately. Don’t wait until your next “scheduled” iOS update to fix it. I am still having issues today with pop email server errors saying “cannot get mail”. This would have been fixed immediately with Jobs.
They will probably just wait for iOS 9.2 to correct all of it. Who the hell knows when that’s coming?
Apple under Steve Jobs basically swept security issues under the rug. Also, did QC check out the iPhone 4 antennas? Sales volumes are much greater now, so the same percentage of issues means higher sheer numbers of units shipping with defects.
Give it a rest. Did Jobs stay after hours and school the coders?
Now they only need to acknowledge that iOS 9 is a stutter fest compared to iOS 8 …

It’s simple and not that big to be called as #gate. It’s apparently in the software and can be resolved easily.
Please, most of the idiotic -gates had almost no basis in reality. Antennagate was total bollocks, so was “mapgate” with the exception of a FEW graphics glitches on a v1.0 product. As if all 1.0 software is perfect.
