Apple has started shipping its much-expected 27-inch aluminium and glass LED Cinema Display.

The $999 display delivers a crystal-clear 2,560-x-1,440 resolution with a 178-degree viewing angle. It boasts a MagSafe connector which charges your Apple notebook, three USB 2.0 ports and a Mini DisplayPort cable.

The display also offers iSight camera, microphone and 49-watt speaker system. The environmentally-friendly display — which matches the design of a MacBook Pro — costs £899. Of course, you can use the display with a desktop Mac as well.

The display was first announced in July.
