Apple to return to vertical, tall iPod nano design, add home button?

Macotakara claims that Apple is gearing up to launch a redesigned iPod nano later this year. This new iPod nano will return to the device’s old horizontal design, but will be 3/4 the height of the fifth-generation of the music player, according to the report.

Additionally, the report claims that the device will gain a home button (makes sense with the current iOS-inspired user-interface) and that the design is thinner than the current model (without its backclip).

Macotakara has previously offered correct information such as iPad 2 and 3 design details, but also some claims that have not come to fruition. Additionally, we feel that this purported design is a step backwards from the ultra-small, wearable design touted by Apple in late 2010.
