Who says analysts can’t be entertaining?

Topeka Capital analyst Brian White is back pedalling his iRing theory as a controller for the Apple television. In a report this morning reported by Business Insider, he said that Apple will release it’s HDTV set at the end of the year, and repeated the claim he made back in April that it will be controlled by an ‘iRing’. Perhaps he means ‘iWatch?’…

Global Equities Research‘s Trip Chowdhry, meanwhile, believes that Apple will be going nuts with patents when iOS7 is released. Reported by Barrons, Chowdhry’s description of iOS 7 could have been taken directly from our own Mark Gurman’s exclusive, suggesting he may be lacking in inside sources for his claim that:

Apple will aggressively go with Patent Infringement for each and every competitor that may have even tried to copy a small feature from iOS7.”

He also suggests that the UI will add two new touch gestures, ‘bend’ and ‘squeeze’, which appear to have been taken from recent Apple patent stories. Apple patents so much stuff it never uses we generally don’t bother reporting these.

Chowdhry’s got a beyond poor record so we’re reporting these mostly for entertainment value.
