The Netflix player on Apple TV has been updated with a new feature that allows watchers to more quickly jump between episodes in a single series of a show. When one episode is complete, the Apple TV will offer up the next episode. You must physically select the next episode as it will not automatically play, according to our testing (Update: the auto-play feature seems to be working on some shows, but not all at the moment). Previously, to access the next episode, users would have to revert back to the main episode list panel within the Netflix app.

FINALLY! This has only been an option on all other netflix apps for, oh i don’t know, about 3 years!
It’s about time.
THANK XENU.
What I’ve been doing is just waiting until it takes me back to my recently played, and then clicking the Play button again. but this is better cause now I don’t have to wait until the theme finishes.
Regarding the next episode selection, I can confirm that my ATV automatically play the next episode. (See “Regular Show” and “Orange Is The New Black”).
After a while, the system will ask if you’re still watching the series.
Interesting. I’ve heard mixed reports about it. When I tried with House of Cards it didn’t go automatically, but some folks are saying it’s only working for certain shows right now.
Probably depends on whether you have ‘Play next episode automatically’ ticked in the playback settings of your account on the Netflix website.
Thanks was wondering if this came with the update too. I understand it’s not working for everyone and all shows, but I’m excited to see its coming as well.
Yes this feature is old but better late then never the feature works great on my ATV. Much appreciated.
