Much like Apple recently published a guide for switching from an Android to iPhone, Google now has an official webpage for switchers detailing steps users can take to migrate content and data from an iPhone or iPad to an Android device. It actually published the guide over a week ago, but no one noticed until earlier today when Google execs, including Matias Duarte, shared a link to the new webpage.
Much like Apple’s guide, Google offers instructions for transferring photos, music, & contacts, and setting up services like email and messaging. That includes things like backing up photos to Google+ and turning off iMessage.

They probably waited to make sure the guide was complete and accurate before “revealing it to the masses”, so to speak. They make it public, have a small number of views come without promotion, correct any mistakes that they may have made or include more information to clarify vague points, and then once it is “complete”, it’s promoted to the rest of everyone. Avoids potential embarrassment that may come from promoting something, and then realizing that part of it is wrong, by which point enough people have seen it so that it can’t be forgotten.
Well but it’s too late already, they should’ve done this a long time ago even before the iPhone 6 lunch
I guess it was unnoticed because these cases are really rare ;o)).
I mean who would switch from Apple to Android? These days with the 6+ its more the other way around I guess.
