Apple releases iTunes 12.1.2 with support for Yosemite Photos app syncing, refined info window

Apple has released an update to iTunes that enables iOS users to sync their photo libraries from the new Photos app that was included in yesterday’s 10.10.3 update. Previously users could sync their iPhoto libraries to their devices, but the release of the Photos app marks the end of Apple’s support for the old software.

The iTunes update also includes “several refinements to the Get Info window,” and improves the app’s stability.

You can download iTunes 12.1.2 from the Updates tab on the Mac App Store right now.

Unless “several refinements” means “brought back the old one,” then it hasn’t been refined enough.

I’ve just updated and now iTunes simply refuses to open :(

I wonder if this fixes AirDJ31 metadata troubles: “songs were tagged incorrectly and some albums were missing album covers.” Or maybe they don’t synch through mac and those issues were from iTunes store downloads on the device.

They had mostly rebuilt the Get Info window to not suck in the last build, but I had this weird cursor issue where it would not select a field if I clicked on the white space after the text. Now it does. I’m cool with iTunes as it is, but it’s abundantly clear that it should be the next complete rewrite after iPhoto > Photos. It would really be nice if it because a few separate apps on the Mac side (Music, Videos, Podcasts), similar to iOS.

Have any of you trouble with Automatically Add to Itunes? Mine stopped working.
