FiftyThree, the company behind the popular Paper app and accompanying Pencil stylus, reveled today a partnership with the Guggenheim Museum that saw a group of students use the Paper app for a year. The goal of the program with Guggenheim was to implore kids to think more creatively.

Guggenheim Museum’s partnership with FiftyThree is also the first time its used anything digital in its educational initiatives. The work created by the 6th grade students over the course of a year is now on display at the Guggenheim Museum. The exhibition runs until June 17th. The 6th grade students were led by artist Jeff Hopkins and encouraged to use the Paper app and Pencil stylus in addition to traditional art supplies.

FiftyThree’s partnership with the Guggenheim Museum will continue to see 4th, 5th, and 6th graders be targeted in a year-long program. FiftyThree says that age is developmentally pivotal and when kids typically decide whether they’re “creative” or not.
