After launching Beats 1 with an interview featuring Eminem, Zane Lowe followed up yesterday by interviewing singer/songwriter Ed Sheeran. If you missed the live interview, though, it has now been added to the Beats 1 YouTube channel. Unfortunately, it’s audio-only at this point, although Zane did share a video clip on his Instagram so it seems likely that a video version is coming soon.
The interview discusses a variety of topics, ranging from Sheeran’s wild partying habits to his upcoming acting gig in a TV show. You can listen to the entire interview via the YouTube embed below, as well as the teaser videos from Apple Music and Zane Lowe.
Beats 1 is Apple’s 24/7 always on radio station featured in iOS 8.4. We should certainly expect to hear more interviews as time progresses, so stay tuned.

I believe this is what really separates Apple Music from the competition. I’m sure that’s in large part to Apple’s nearly endless supply of cash that affords them revered and respected DJs as well as wrangle in top artists for exclusive interviews and maybe someday unplugged performances.
I don’t look at DJ’s as high up on the entertainment food chain. They are typically used to promote something, or they play records at a wedding or a nightclub where you go dancing. That’s about the extent of a DJ. If I’m spending money to get access to streaming music, I want to listen to music that i’m paying for not some DJ rambling on and on.. I can think of a lot of other things to do with Apple’s money than to hire DJ’s and paying them outrageous amounts of money. I would rather Apple spend that money on R&D.
